Dynamics of propagation and interaction of delta-shock waves in conservation law systems

We introduce a new definition of a delta-shock wave type solution for a class of systems of conservation laws in the one-dimensional case. The weak asymptotics method developed by the authors is used to construct formulas describing the propagation and interaction of delta-shock waves. The dynamics of merging two delta-shocks is described by explicit formulas continuously in time. (c) 2005 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
