摘要

Gas metal arc welding is one of the important technologies for rapid forming. It is a very complicated process involving many parameters, which have important effect on the forming performance. In order to investigate some of these parameters, two mathematical models have been developed in this paper. One is the 3D mathematical model for the metal transfer process in GMAW, which is not sufficient to describe the complete GMAW process, but the transient solution of this model is acceptable to describe the droplet behavior; the other is the 3D model for welding pool, which has given a useful result of the formation of welding.
