Learning habits of clinicians embrace many different approaches these days: Internet, multimedia, online video presentations, and non-peer-reviewed ophthalmic magazines and newspapers reporting meeting presentations. This issue of JCRS contains a review article by Ishikawa et al., which is part of a regular series of reviews that we hope are appreciated by our readers who are not able in practice to read every article published in JCRS. Review articles have a wider remit, allowing a relatively rapid update on a regular series of topics presented by JCRS. In addition, the summary at the end of each full-length article, which notes what each manuscript adds to the sum of published knowledge, is intended to enhance the readers education and encourage reading of the full article to assimilate the new information.
