摘要

The binucleating, tetradentate Schiff base ligand (H2L) has been synthesised by condensation of bis-(4-aminophenyl)-methane with salicylaclehyde. The resulting metal(II) complexes [metal = Mn-II, Ni-II, Co-II, Cu-II and Zn-II] have been characterised by elemental analyses, molar conductances, magnetic moment, IR, UV-vis spectra, thermal analyses (DTA and TGA) and ESR spectra. Antimicrobial activities of the ligand and its metal(II) complexes have been tested against different microorganisms. The electrochemical data of complexes (2), (9) and (10) are discussed.
