Albert Einstein submitted six papers toAnnalen derPhysik during 1905-each of them of crucial importance to physics and to all of science.In this issue JCE celebrates the centennial of Einstein's annus mirabilis-miraculous year-with papers about Einstein himself (p 1601),E = me~2 (p 1611 and p 1636),Brownian motion (p 1642),relativistic effects on the properties of heavy main-group elements (p 1721),and quantum dots (p 1697 and p 1700).
