A 59-year-old male presented with new onset atria! fibrillation and lower extremity edema and was found on a transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) to have a 4.4 x 6.3 cm mass compressing the right atrium (Fig.1). A CT scan showed the density of the mass was consistent with fat (Fig. 2). At the time of surgery, an encapsulated lipomatous mass was completely excised (Fig. 3). The histology was consistent with a benign lipoma. He had an uneventful postoperative course and three months following surgery was in normal sinus rhythm with no evidence of a mass lesion on a follow-up TTE (Fig. 4).
