Demand in Turkish pig iron market surges

Turkish pig iron market witnessed a surge in demand at the end of May as major consumers started purchasing;besides, booked lots were quite large.Turkish steelmakers bought about 110,000-120,000 t, most of which will be supplied by Ukrainian exporters, delivery inlate June-July. Over 50% of the above quantity was sold at $540/t C&F, other contracts were signed at $545-555/t C&Fand only sporadic bookings were made at higher prices.
