Demand in the Chinese iron ore market is rather feeble at the beginning of April. Many end-users have been tentative early this week due to continuously dull steel product segment, where the quantity of unsold material remains high and prices are low. Business has nearly dried out on Thursday-Friday on official holidays in China. The situation will change next week, since many steelmakers need to refill their inventories, market players believe. Nevertheless, buying appetite of the Chinese will chiefly depend on the finished product segment.
