Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation to upgrade ironand steelmaking equipment

Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced the plans for number of equipment modernizationsat Kaohsiung plant.According to the company’s press release, the first project includes an upgrade of a hearth shell andinner shell of one of hot stoves in blast furnace No.3 (2.68 million tpy, inner volume 3,400 cu m). The workswill begin in January 2017, with completion scheduled for December 2018. As a result, the BF productionwill be stabilized by lap parallel operation with four hot stoves.
