China’s Shandong Iron and Steel Rizhao contracts two slab casters for new plant

China’s Shandong Iron and Steel Rizhao has contracted UK’s Primetals Technologies for supply of twoslab CCM (4.6 million tpy in total) for the new flats-making plant under construction in Rizhao, ShandongProvince. The equipment to cast 230 mm thick and 1,000?1,950 mm wide slabs is scheduled for commissioningin June 2017. The units will be fed with crude steel melted in two BOFs with an aggregate capacity of 5million tpy.
