Expert Systems for Diagnosis and Maintenance

摘要

In this paper, the need for expert systems (ES) for diagnosis and maintenance are discussed, as well as the conditions that justify the application of expert systems. Several examples of expert systems for diagnosis and maintenance are given, also a (partial) list of expert systems for diagnosis and maintenance that have been developed throughout the world. The relative advantages and disadvantages of human expert and expert systems are discussed, and also the present state and future direction of development of expert systems for diagnosis and maintenance.
