Dredging company fined

EPA Region 2 took action against Bean Stuyvesant LLC,New York,for violating the Marine Protection,Research and Sanctuaries Act,also known as the Ocean Dumping Act.The company allegedly discharged rock into the Atlantic Ocean instead of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Shark River Artificial Reef site.The proposed penalty is US110,000 for two violations.
