摘要

Polyoxometalates (POMs) are discrete oligomeric anions of early transition metals, such tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo) and vanadium (V) oxides. Various biological effects of POMs have been studied, like their antitumor, antiviral and antibacterial activities [1]. We studied the mechanism involved in the antitumoral effect of two polyoxometalates, (NH_3~i Pr)_4[Mo_8O_(26)] (OCTA) and the commercial polyoxometalate (NH_4)_6[Mo_7O_(24)]·4H_2O (HEPTA) [2] in a variety of cancer cell lines.
