摘要

Combining ability was studied in 10 x 10 diallel set excluding reciprocals of cowpea genotypes for seed yield and its component characters. Non additive gene effects were observed to be relatively more important for the characters, plant height, compound leaves/plant, leaf area, pods per plant, seed yield per plant, length of root, dry weight of leaves, dry weight of pods, dry weight of root, biological yield and harvest index. Parents RCV-326, Pusa Komal, and IIHR Sel. 11, were best general combiners for yield and its component characters. Seven crosses were identified as the best specific combinations for seed yield.
