摘要

Daphnids are enriched food material to fishes in both temperate and tropical ecosystems. The fishes select large ovigerous females and male Daphnia species for their body metabolism to harvest energy helps in survival with maintenance of drastic conditions. This research showed diapauses in Cladoceran population in modified flow-through culture to maintain ecological conditions of polluted Daha river. We observed increment in female daphnid population with parthenogen broods due to fish predation andreleased chemicals must be profitable to survive under predation with population increase in future, but there was a trend of decline of ephippial production with age and generation. Thus, it was concluded that fish predation in polluted water body enhances diapauses in zooplanktons to save their population in drastic conditions.
