Empowerment of Seniors and Paradigm Change A Commentary on Haber's Empowerment Paradigm

Speculating helpfully and fruitfully on the likely impact on aging and society as the baby boomer cohort passes through old age; David Haber recommends an empowerment paradigm to all gerontological educators and practitioners. Such a focus, he suggests, would foster leadership, creativity, and empowerment among seniors themselves. It would encourage innovative, effective community organizations and pave the way to senior-directed policy making and advocacy instead of professionally dominated policy making and advocacy.
