The Effect of Changes in Attitude and Subjective Norm on Treatment Compliance in Hypertension Patients

This study measured changes in the attitude and subjective norm of hypertension patients over time using the theory of reasoned action, and the effects that such changes made on the treatment compliance of hypertension. We examined the changes for approximately 4 years, targeting 166 hypertension patients in a local community. The group that showed a low score in attitude and subjective norm on the first survey showed an increase as time went by, but the group that showed a high score at first showed a decrease thereafter. And the group that had an increase in changes in attitude and subjective norm showed the greatest increases in drug treatment compliance.
