摘要

The characterization of single particles and particle populations by mass spectrometric methods is becoming increasingly interesting especially because of the well-known effects of airborne micro-particles on human health and environment.Instruments of this type determine directly the chemical contents of particles by simultaneous detection of both,positive and negative laser-desorbed ions as a function of size and time by on-line mass spectrometry.The method has been used successfully for many years by many research groups in laboratory and field experiments.An inter-comparison experiment with two transportable laser mass spectrometer instruments was realized to directly evaluate single particle spectra and spectral patterns from both instruments.This will help to improve the information value of the data.
