摘要

This issue's continuing education (CEU) feature is an article on moral distress among health care professionals. This is an important topic for nurse executives to be aware of because of the potentially adverse impact of moral distress on staff performance and retention. Another recent article that is referenced in our Legal Briefs feature explored posttraumatic stress disorder in health care providers, and I would commend that article for your review as well. The health care payment landscape remains fluid, leading to continued uncertainty and consolidation in the market. Several systems in my area have begun to make staffing cuts. All of these changes and uncertainties may lead to increased stress in our staff and in our selves. What are you doing to take care of your nursing staff in these uncertain times? What are you doing to take care of yourself? Now more than ever, resiliency is something we need to be aware of and committed to as leaders. Hopefully, we will all take some time to be truly away from work to recharge our batteries and improve our ability to navigate these uncertain times.
