Evaluating Ceramic-Foam and Bonded-Particle Cartridge Filtration Systems

A joint program was set up between VA W Aluminium AG and Foseco in order to establish data on the relative positions of fine-foam ceramic filters and, more specifically, to investigate the performance characteristics of bonded-particle, tube-cartridge filter systems. In this article, the results of the first phase of this program detailing findings on the 30 ppi and 50 ppi ceramic-foam filters and a Metaullics 14 tube, 16 grit cartridge filter are presented.
