Global Demand Trends — Developing Nations Pace the Gains

Developing countries spurred all ofthe demand gains heading into2012, since jet fuel usage in theindustrialized nations continued toshrink. The pace of growth in keydeveloping countries ramped up to8.7% in January from 6% in thefourth quarter. Brazil and Mexicoshowed the fastest gains of about10% in January, while Indian usageclimbed by 9% and South Korearecorded a 6% gain.
