Global jet fuel demand in July slowed markedly from the 2.5% growth rate seen in the second quarter. Consumption in Europe backtracked by more than 4% due to a 17% plunge in France as the Nice terror attacks discouraged domestic and international travel out of French airports. Consumption in Germany and Italy edged lower from year-earlier rates. Summer flight schedules boosted US needs by nearly 4%, while the pace of demand growth in Japan slowed to 5%.
