Gains in global jet fuel usage accelerated heading into the last quarter of 2013. Consumption in a group of representative countries jumped by 5.5% to 3.1 million barrels per day in October. The US and the UK were star performers, while Japan’s strong recovery ebbed somewhat in October. Germany was the only country in the group to report shrinkage.
