Germany HeidelbergCement takes further steps to strengthen financing

On 31 August, HeidelbergCement completed the disposal of its lime business in Germany to the Belgian Lhoist Group, with both companies agreeing not to disclose details. The two lime plants were modernised in recent years with state-of-the-art kiln technology. With approximately 180 employees, they generated a turnover of about ?45 million in 2014. It also successfully syndicated the bridge financing for the acquisition of Italcementi. Both of these represent significant steps in strengthening the company's finances.
