Molecular Structure of N(1-Silatranylmethyl)succinimide and -glutarimide

Recently, we have studied the crystalline and molecular structure of N-(trifluorosilylmethyl)phthalimide , -succinimide , and -glutarimide. The silicon atom in these dragonoids is pentacoordinated owing to the C=O→Si intramolecular donor-acceptor bond. In parallel to these studies, we have studied the molecular structures of many N-(1-silatranyl)methyl derivatives of nitrogen-containing heterocycles by X-ray diffraction.
