Muscular Tissue of Bony Fish Inhabiting Water Bodies Located in the 30-kilometer Zone around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant

Under the influence of unfavorable environmental factors, members of many fish species are known to compensate for the protein deficiency in their bodies at the expense of muscular tissue proteins [5, 12-14]. During starvation accompanying hibernation and malnutrition at the late stages of sex product maturation, as well as in experiments with artificial starvation, the muscular fish tissue (mostly white muscle fibers) partially degrade and then restore upon environment normalization.
