摘要

Modern self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) technology includes several methods for producing nanostructured ceramic composites. Their common feature is either the use of ultrafine initial powders, or their subsequent chemical or mechanical treatment to produce a submicron structure. For example, optimal conditions were found for the synthesis of nonmetallic SHS-produced nitrides, from which submicron powders were obtained by chemical dispersion [1]. Submicron titanium diboride powders and nanosized Al-Ni powders were synthesized under special conditions, namely, dilution of the initial mixture with a low-melting diluent and long-term mechanical treatment [2]. Nanocrystalline structure was also produced by using initial ultrafine refractory powders [3].
