The ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma) guidelines update, realized in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the Global Allergy and Asthma European Network (GA2LEN) and Allergen, presented two phases: 1) the development of evidence-based documents on alternative and complementary medicine, allergen avoidance, pharmacological treatment and anti-lgE, sports and exercise, specific immunotherapy, the links between rhinitis and asthma, and the mechanisms of rhinitis; and 2) the compilation of all evidence into a single document (1-7; Pawankar and Mullol, manuscript submitted).
