摘要

An experimental setup is designed and constructed for investigating the glow of dielectric fluid flows in a narrow dielectric channel. A series of experiments is carried out with dielectric channels of various shapes. Photographs of glow for different flow regimes are obtained. The fluid glow is shown to be of a discrete nature and can be accompanied by pulsed electromagnetic radiation. It is found that for a certain channel design the fluid glow arises at a flow velocity of above 15 m s"1. It is also found that the measured part of the glow spectrum has no distinct spectral lines.
