摘要

The cause of the occurrence of the discrete spectrum in an unbounded region can be both various types of inhomogeneities and the strip-boundary relief. After choosing the boundary conditions, the transition to integral equations or integro-differential equations is carried out for solving the boundary value problem. The formulated theorem enables researchers to form very simply various formulations of the boundary value problems, which should be investigated. This approach is especially convenient in seismology problems, when quite a number of the boundary conditions for block structures are unknown, and the most acceptable of them are clarified by varying the formulations of the boundary conditions and comparing with the experiment. In the case if the relief or the layered character of structures is more complex, the necessary number of block elements should be involved for its description, and the presented scheme of investigation should be retained.
