Oxidation of thiols to disulfides catalyzed by iron(III)-tetra phenyl prophyrin Fe(TPP)Cl was investigated using urea-hydrogen peroxide adduct(UHP)as an oxidant in methanol as a solvent.Conversion of thiols to disulfides is important from both biological and synthetic points of view.
