New challengers from caterpillar: third generation tracked tractors include new engines, refined traction system and controls

Caterpillar reinforced its commitment to the agricultural equipment market with the recent introduction of its third, and most sophisticated generation of Challenger tractors. The all-new Challenger MT700 tractor series includes four models the MT735, MT745, MT755 and MT765 - with PTO hp outputs ranging from 185 to 255 hp. The new line of tractors includes Caterpillar's C-9 diesel engine, a refined Mobil-trac system with several belt options for maximum versatility; the Intelitronics power management system, productivity-enhancing technology and an all-new cab for increased operator comfort. The new MT700 series tractors have a high degree of commonality with the only real difference the engine output. The tractors will be available from Cat dealers beginning in May 2002.
