The global interest in proportional electrohydraulic components in off-highway mobile equipment has been steadily expanding. Certainly, the increasingly common presence of electronic controls on these machines has been a factor, as has the decades-long movement toward improving ergonomics. This has led, in many cases, to removing most hydraulics, especially control valves, from the operator's environment and turning more to remote electric controls. At the same time, proportional hydraulics have moved equally steadily out of top-end off-highway machines and are now increasingly common in midrange and even lower tier machine models.
