Investing Against Rough Waters: Schottel launches new products for offshore vessels, invests in new manufacturing plant

Rudder propeller specialist Schottel has inaugurated a new manufacturing plant in Dorth, Germany, not far from the company's headquarters in Spay. Christophe Mourot, Schottel's chief operating officer (COO), said that the existing plant in Spay needed a major upgrade so the decision to invest in a brand new plant was made. The company maintains a manufacturing site in Wismar, Germany, for bigger components that are sea-shipped, and a production site in Suzhou, China, dedicated to tunnel thrusters up to 2.2 MW.
