There hasn't been a dull moments at GE's Greenville, South Carolina, U.S.A., facility since October 2014. That's because several engineers have been busy running tests on the company's latest gas turbine - the 9HA.01. Those tests commenced at the end of March, leaving GE with its first validated gas turbine in the HA family. The remaining HA gas turbines include the 9HA.02, 7HA.01 and 7HA.02. "The results of the validation exceeded our expectations," said Guy DeLeonardo, general manager, high efficiency gas turbines, GE Power & Water. "Validation is key because you not only have to have the lowest cost of electricity, but you also need reliability and availability."
