New Two-Stage Turbocharged Engine For MAN Diesel & Turbo: 18V48/60TS has an increased continuous power output of up to 1200 kW/cyl

MAN Diesel & Turbo has launched the medium-speed engine type 18V48/60TS with two-stage turbo-charging. The diesel has an increased continuous power output of up to 1200 kW/cyl. At that power output, NO_x emissions have been measured at 1480 mg/Nm~3. MAN Diesel & Turbo said the new engine has a very low specific fuel oil consumption of 171.1 g/kWh while retaining an output of 1050 kW/cyl. The possibility of a flexible operation between 1050 and 1200 kW/cyl gives operators the choice between low fuel consumption or high power output.
