CHI-A Titanium Branch releases data for 2005

China Nonferrous Metals Industry (CNI-A) Titanium Branch (also regarded as China Titanium, Zirconium and Hafnium Association) early this month released the statistics of China's titanium industry in 2005. According to the latest data, the national capacity of sponge titanium reached 13,000tpy in 2005, with 9,510.8 tonnes of actual output, increasing by 97.8 percent year-on-year. Zunyi Titanium Co., Ltd., the biggest sponge titanium producer in China yielded 7,396,7 tonnes last year. In 2005, China imported 1,718 tonnes of sponge titanium, down by 6.6 percent year-on-year; while the export surged by 13.4 times to 828 tonnes.
