Gen-sets for U.S. Army - Simpower Ltd. supplies 15 MW to Aberdeen proving ground

Constellation Energy and the U.S. Army recently entered into an arrangement for the creation of 15 MW of standby backup power at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, U.S.A. This arrangement involved the manufacture of power generation packages that would be located on the base in Aberdeen. The power would be used for peak shaving during high demand periods and for backup power when required. Whenever the base does not require power from the units, Constellation has the option of delivering power from the gen-sets to its utility grid to meet customer demand. When not in use, the units are in standby mode ready to meet Aberdeen's backup requirements
