Set eggs from Hampshire hens were divided into groups according to weight: 55-56 g, 57-58 g, 59-60 g and 61-62 g. Eggs were then hatched with or without (control) sound stimulation. The stimulated groups were exposed to 10 or 20 dB with a frequencyof 5.7 Hz from day 19 of incubation. The best results were obtained for stimulated groups with eggs weights of 59-60 g. In this group, the beginning of beakclapping was observed at 493.90±6.771 and 489.50±4.648 hours for eggs stimulated with 10 and 20 dBrespectively; the whole group beakclapping time was 10.60±0.663 h which was significantly different from controls. Sound intensity did not have any significant influence on the time of the beginning of beakclapping, the whole group beakclapping time orhatching time.
