Handan Iron & Steel Group has start building strip process line in its pickling & galvanizing plant on April 28, which is the only one till date mill to process 6-8mm pickling & galvanized plate. The project is expected to further improve its capacity and production quality. The mill is budgeted to cost CHY20 million, designed and built by the company. The commission is due to end of 2003. On April 27, Handan Steel has successfully completed hot trail to its No. 2 CSP line and fulfilled integrated with No. 1 line. The No. 1 line was completed on December 10 1999, and ramped up to 1.12m tpy by last year. The second line was broken ground in 2002 with investment close CHY700 million and will add the company cast capacity by 1.25m tpy.
