Construction of Yulong Cu SX-EW plant delayed

Construction of Yulong Copper Co.. LtcPs copper SX-EW(solution extraction-electro-won) plant In Yulong area, Dajiang county, Changdu prefecture of Tibet has been delayed due to a number of issues, industrial insiders said. The first issue is that the designed mining method for the copper project is still oppugned and relevant central government departments have required Yulong Copper to study new mining method and submit report for approval. But local authorities including officers of Tibet Development and Reform Committee holds a different viewpoint: sizable investments(around 100 million yuan) and times have been spent on the designed mining method. If the designed method is abandoned, the project will be suspended for a long time. According to the designed mining method, sulfuric acid will be used to leach the local oxidized ore and then to extract copper. A SX-EW pilot plant has been set up and the experiment has shown that the method is feasible.
