Petronas is considering the possibility of building up another LNG export project in Sabah, Daily Express reported. The company is considering the terminal despite the fact that it is more cost-effective to channel gas from Sabah to the Bintulu LNG export plants. "But you never know if there will be a LNG plant in Sabah," CEO of Malaysia LNG, Zakaria Kasah, said. The Sabah plant would cost about US$4 billion for the plant alone. With upstream development costs and pipeline construction costs factored in, the project could cost more than US$10 billion.
