Panel: Israel needs to satisfy domestic needs with gas finds

Israel should retain enough natural gas in order to satisfy its own needs for 25 years, The Jordan Times reported April 10, citing recommendations from a Israeli government panel. Gas production in the country is poised to soar after the discovery of the Tamar and Leviathan gas fields. The Tamar and Leviathan fields, estimated to hold 250 billion cubic meters (bcm) and 450 bcm respectively, are set to come online in 2013 and 2017.
