According to a Reuters report, Anadarko Corp. has reached five gas offtake agreements concerning its planned Afungi LNG export plant in Mozambique. The deals remain unannounced as details are ironed out, but reportedly the company has reached agreements with China National Offshore Oil Corp.. Japan, Pertamina. the United Arab Emirates. PTT and Indian companies. Many agreements have reached the heads of agreement (HOA) stage, although negotiators are looking to firm them up into legally binding agreements by year-end. Afungi LNG has been proposed with an initial stage of two trains for a total capacity of 10 mtpa, with the option to expand to eight trains. It is one of several projects planned in Mozambique and its neighbor, Tanzania.
