Spain's Repsol to sell US$2.7B worth of LNG assets

Spain's Repsol expects to sell US$2.7 billion worth of LNG assets by early February, Bloomberg reported. The report did not disclose a buyer of the assets. The sale includes assets in Peru, Trinidad and Spain. Operating profit from the company's LNG business business more than tripled in 2011 to 386 million euros, 8 percent of thte total. The company is keen to keep its investment-grade debt rating by selling 4.5 billion euros of assets by 2016 and paying down borrowings.
