Shell signs LOI for Chinese LNG import terminal

Shell has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Guanghui Energy to build an LNG import terminal in East China, Reuters reported. The project will be located in Qidong, Jiangsu province. Guanghui Energy first plans to build a 600,000 tonnes per year storage and transit plant, according to a company statement released earlier this month. The company then aims to build a 1.5 MTPA LNG import facility under a second phase and a 3.5 MTPA import terminal in a third stage.
