Shell is interested in a 25 percent stake in InterOil's 9-million-tonne-per-year Papua New Guinea LNG project, FOX Business reported July 26. "We have been speaking with InterOil over quite some period of time," said Shell CFO Simon Henry. In addition to the LNG development, The Woodlands, Texas-based firm holds exploration and production licenses tliat cover approximately four million acres in the country. "It's an interesting play there. We have talked to the government, we are looking at it," said Shell CEO Peter Voser. The decision, he said, will be driven by "profitability."
