Indonesia approves US$12.1 B expansion to BP-operated Tangguh LNG project

Indonesia has approved in principle expansion plans drawn up for the BP-operated Tangguh LNG project in eastern Indonesia, Rigzone reported. The expansion will add a third LNG train with a capacity of 3.8 million tonnes per year (mt/y), bringing total capacity to 11.4 mt/y. A final investment decision on the plan is expected in 2014. Full operations at the third train will commence in 2018.
