Japan consumed 33 percent more LNG in April compared to the same month a year ago, Reuters reported May 16, citing data from the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan. Utilities in the country burned a record 4.56 million tonnes during the month, in part, to make up for lost nuclear-power generation.
