It's hard to believe that my first year as the CINDE Chair is coming to an end. Time has flown and I must say I have learned a lot about what it takes to Chair and represent a national, not-for-profit, technical society from coast to coast and around the world. Thanks to the hard work and efforts of the CINDE full-time staff and our volunteer Board, much has been accomplished in the past 12 months. As reported by Kevin Woit, our Secretary/Treasurer, the finances improved nicely in the last fiscal year, and David Craig, the Chair of the Long Range Planning Committee has done a great job of keeping everyone on task and updating the status of all projects related to the CINDE 2020 strategic plan. These projects will continue to be pursued on a priority basis as time and resources allow. As reported by Larry Cote, our President/ CEO, the overall strong demand for CINDE NDT training and certification services under the guidance of Sharon Bond, the CINDE Training Manager, allows us to help develop the next generation NDT workforce. An important component of our training effort, the full-time 2 year QET-NDE technician program delivered through Mohawk College, continues to register new cohorts each September. Thanks go to Bill Brimley, the Associate Dean of Engineering Technology at Mohawk and a CINDE Board member, for his support of the CINDE/Mohawk training partnership.
